Climb selection criteria

Low traffic, non-residential roads.

Reasonable proximity to large numbers of cyclists whereby greater than 100 cyclists would cycle most of the Climbs each fine weather weekend.

Start and KOM locations are where the ascending begins and ends.

Identifiable land marks, such as '60km p/h Max' metal street signs are utilised where in close proximity to Start and KOM.

No mitigating street signs in Climbs whereby a cyclist has to give way at a Stop Sign or traffic lights.

Up steep hills not less than 1.2km.

Average distance of the 63 Climbs is over 3km.

Average ascending gradient of 6.5%.

A Bike Shop may register a new Climb provided it is the nearest Bike Shop to the new Climb.
