Why bike shops are Registering a Climb Team
  • The developers of this site are enthused by the support from ride groups and cycle clubs for a website database to motivate cyclists to -
    1. improve performance by individual 'time trials' on low traffic roads up Sydney's favourite hills; and
    2. better their Climb Team's ranking.
  • Bike Shops advertising/promotion:
    1. Register a Climb Team in the name of your bike shop, and
    2. invite your employees and customers to -
      1. register (in this website ) as a Climber for your Climb Team; and
      2. log any Climb Times your employees and customers opt to keep when ascending the 42 Climbs across greater Sydney.
  • 42 Climbs across Northern, Southern and Western Sydney:
    Below is a schedule of 42 Climbs with the cost of the second ½ year sponsorship for each Climb.
    For the initial 6 months no sponsorship fee for sponsoring a Climb and advertising your Bike Shop on the associated Climb Page. If after the 6 months free trial use of this website, Bike Shops wish to retain their advertising on the selected Climb Page, the Bike Shop will deposit the associated Climb's Sponsorship Cost into a trust account at Commonwealth Bank. As set out in a Trust Deed, all proceeds MUST be used for the inaugural annual 2 day KOM Challenge restricted to Top 10 Climbers in each of 18 age divisions.
    Recapping, no cost for a Bike Shop to sponsor a Climb for the introductory initial 6 months where the Bike Shop receives free advertising.
  • Release 3 of www.KOMpm.com will enable a Bike Shop which has registered a Climb Team to submit for registeration a new Climb if close to their shop.
  • 50+ Greater Sydney Bike Shops:
    Shops are invited to -
    1. Register (via Registeration in this website) a Climb Team; and
    2. sponsor a Climb as their shop receives extensive advertising space on the Climb Page which the Bike Shop may update with any Specials directly using FTP. When a Climber opens a Climb Page to log a Climb Time, the Climber views the Bike shop advertising which sits above the Climb logging table.
    No Bike Shop can sponsor more than one Climb Page.
    Depending on Hits made to each Climb Page over the initial 6 months trial period, the Climb Sponsorship Fee for the 6 months from the project launch date to the 1st anniversary of launch date may increase by up to 100%. The Climb Sponsorship Fee for the 2nd 6 months will be the same fee for the 2nd 12 months. The Sponsorship Fee for any additional Climbs referred to above would be consistent with the Sponsorship Fee listed below.
    A Bike Shop may withdraw it's Sponsorship of a Climb at any time and its name/photo etc will be removed from the associated Climb Page.
  • What Sponsoring a Climb provides for your Bike Shop:
    Sponsorship will entitle a 200m x 200m advertisement on the associated Climb Page of the Bike Shop, incl a jpg photo and HTML to the Bike Shop's website, with capacity for each shop to FTP Specials to their Climb Page, so you change your advertising message as often as you want.
    A Hit Counter will be provided on each Climb Page to measure access to the Climb Page, although logged Climb Times will provide hard evidence.
  • Bike Shop Climb Team Profiles will -
    • advertise the Climb Sponsor; and
    • link to a separate page for each Climber in that Climb Team which lists -
      • information requested in the on-line Registration Form (except date of birth/age);
      • last 10 Climbs the Climber has logged;
      • last 10 Climbs the Climber has been nominated to Witness or Guarantee; and
      • total number of Climbs the Climber has logged.
